Responsible for revenue expansion of 50% in the first year and became instrumental in setting up web-site for sister company to grow walk in traffic by 75%. Networked with area professionals to keep in the know regarding potential projects. Also worked as operations manager for projects under construction.
Kimball Hill Homes - Ft. Myers / Naples Division 6/04 – 9/06
Senior Community Development Manager / VP for nations largest privately owned home builder. Managed the development of communities south of Sarasota to Marco Island including due diligence, planning, entitlements, HOA set up, vendor contracting and actual site and amenity development through turnover. Inherited three projects that had numerous design flaws and identified best corrective action to provide a win / win for the company and communities. Company is in bankruptcy on a national level at this time and local office has been closed for quite some time.
The Bonita Bay Group - Bonita Springs, Fl 11/95 – 6/04
Construction Coordinator / Site Engineer for SW Florida’s premier golf course community developer. Managed the site work and amenity construction for projects that included high end championship golf course development as well as residential tracts on projects as large as 2500 acres. Project budgets ranged upwards of $25 million per phase. Made key decisions on site that attributed to overall success of developments.
Ardaman and Associates - Fort Myers, Fl 10/94 – 11/95
Senior Engineering Technician for engineering firm that specialized in environmental engineering and construction project quality control. I was responsible for providing due diligence services for a multi million dollar sewer expansion project in Charlotte County, Florida. Coordinated all the soil boring and environmental investigations which included managing the work of three drilling crews, utility locates and collection of data to provide most viable locations for expansion.
Stottler, Stagg and Associates - Cape Canaveral, Fl 12/92 – 10/94
Roadway and Bridge Inspector on 3 ½ miles of Osceola Parkway project in Kissimmee, Fl. Project included 3 bridges and approximately 200,000 s.f. of reinforced earth wall. Performed all QC inspections, kept daily log of activities and approved contractor pay requests for project. Completed project and moved back to Ft Myers.
US Army Corps of Engineers (Contracted through Gilbert and Southern)
Managed the clean up efforts of contracting crews participating in the clean up efforts after the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew during the months of Oct. and Nov. 1992
City of Cape Coral Florida Utilities 7/90 – 12/92
Senior Inspector
Responsible for the inspection and documentation of Cape Coral Dual Water projects which included approximately 100 miles of potable water and irrigation mains, pump stations and road / right of way restoration. Acted as liaison between engineers, contractors and homeowners for dispute resolutions as they related to property damage claims filed by homeowners.
Harper Brothers, Inc. 7/89 – 7/90
Estimator / Project Manager for areas largest civil general contracting firm. Performed earthwork calculations as well as quantities estimates for items associated with site development on numerous roadway and community development projects throughout SW Florida. Projects usually ranged from $1 million to several million dollars.
Kunde, Sprecher and Yaskin, Inc. 7/ 87 – 7/89
Roadway, Building, Bridge and Utility Inspector. Served as architect’s representative on numerous projects throughout SW Florida with most notable vertical project being the expansion of RSW Airport to include US Customs facilities. This multi million dollar project included specialized demolition and soil grout stabilization, tarmac construction, chilled water line installation, escalator construction, baggage conveyor installation and concourse remodeling to include new customs check in and holding areas. This project required the ability to work under FAA security and construction guidelines and coordinate all work so it did not impact existing airport operations. The most notable of the civil projects was the 6 miles of roadway improvements which connect the City of Cape Coral and Fort Myers. This included the construction of the Cape Coral Parallel Span bridge with 12 lane toll collection facility. My area of responsibility covered the entire project.
I worked for Ardaman and Associates and Kunde, Sprecher and Yaskin on two earlier assignments of which I do not have the dates but I feel it is important to note that I was brought back to work with them again. These assignments utilized my talents in quality control and land surveying areas. Worked way up from rodman to crew chief with KSY.
